To preserve financial capital that works in perpetuity to provide a revenue stream that supports the physical facilities and grounds of the church.

To be able to cover a substantial part or the entire cost of sustaining the building and grounds of the Congregational Church of Excelsior.

What is The Congregational Church of Excelsior Endowment Fund?

Incorporated as a separate 501c(3) nonprofit, the fund was established for the sole purpose of generating a long-term revenue stream to support the building and grounds of the Congregational Church of Excelsior.

Why now is the time…

A generous anonymous donor has offered a matching gift of $25,000 to help us reach the $300,000 threshold we need to begin drawing interest from the fund. The total goal of $50,000 will put us well beyond this threshold, and activate our ability to draw interest.

Why this campaign is important…

The terms of our endowment fund stipulate that until a balance of $300,000 is reached, no interest can be withdrawn for any purpose. Once a balance of $300,000 is achieved, the church may use a designated portion of the interest on the balance for much-needed building and grounds repairs and improvements.

The dollars currently being spent on these projects from the annual church budget can be redirected to mission-critical activities such as:

Youth & children’s programs
Music & worship initiatives
Community engagement
Growth & membership efforts
And so much more!
